Three Drug Traffickers Held with 549 Bottles of Indian Liquor in Dhobaura

Three alleged drug traffickers were arrested along with 549 bottles of Indian liquor during a special anti-narcotics drive conducted by police in Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh. According to police sources, the operation was carried out early Friday morning in the Kolsindur Ghatpar area based on secret information. A special team from Bangladesh Police conducted the raid targeting an active smuggling network ahead of Eid. The operation was led by Dhobaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam, while SI Sakib and other members of the force also participated in the drive. During the অভিযান, police recovered 549 bottles of Indian liquor packed inside 13 sacks from a pickup van and arrested three individuals on the spot. The detainees were identified as: Jahangir Alam, 27, from Rangpur Saidul Islam, 42, from Fulbaria Tanzimul Mondol, 23, from Rangpur Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam said the drive was conducted as part of the government’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs under the directives of the Range DIG and the Superintendent of Police. He further stated that legal action under the Narcotics Control Act is underway and the accused will be produced before the court. Police officials also mentioned that surveillance along border routes has been intensified ahead of Eid to prevent drug smuggling and other illegal activities.
